MISSION & VISION
TLC Boston is a program of the EDCO
Collaborative in partnership with the Archdiocese
of Boston Catholic School Office and the Parents
Alliance for Catholic Education to improve literacy among
Title I students and families in inner-city Boston Catholic
schools.
The Center will offer programs, resources and services to eligible elementary school age students, their families and their teachers to improve literacy instruction and outcomes. TLC Boston also will work with school administrators on a variety of levels to create a school culture that embraces parent-school collaboration and communication. Parents of eligible students also will receive comprehensive services to equip them with the skills to work with their children, as well as programs to address their own literacy needs.
TLC Boston hopes to become a model for serving academically at-risk, Title
I students and their families. Funding for TLC Boston is provided
through No Child Left Behind Title I.
